The Long Beach Lodge offers elegant accomodations amidst the rugged natural splendor of West Coast rainforest, sandy beaches and the wild surf of the north Pacific.

The Long Beach Lodge Resort is located 7 kilometres (4.25 miles) south of the township of Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.

The Long Beach Lodge rests on eight acres of oceanfront property opening up onto the pristine beach and rolling surf of Cox Bay – just 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) from the spectacular Pacific Rim National Park.

The Lodge was designed and constructed in the spirit of West Coast design. The stone chimney, cedar board and shingle exterior convey the notion of arriving at a very warm and welcoming “home away from home”. This warmth spills over inside the lobby of the Lodge and on into the Great Room – the focal point of the entire resort.

The Great Room is an inviting oceanfront lounge and restaurant. Its award-winning open architecture includes floor-to-ceiling windows exposing the grandeur of Cox Bay and the Pacific Ocean. A massive granite fireplace compliments the large Douglas Fir posts and beams to further reinforce the West Coast-style at the heart of the resort.

Accommodations and Cuisine at the Long Beach Lodge

There are two types of lodging available at the resort – self-contained cottages or guest rooms in the Lodge. The Lodge guest rooms offer either ocean views or forest vistas and include comforting amenities such as bathrobes and waterproof rain jackets. Each of the twenty Cottages contains two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a full kitchen and living area. Also included are a gas fireplace and a private patio with a hot tub.

The Long Beach Lodge boasts a series of award-winning dishes in the lounge and dining area of the Great Room. The gourmet west coast cuisine is handcrafted from local Vancouver Island ingredients. Fresh seafood and local, sustainable farm produce are paired together in all the selections and are available from early in the morning until 10pm at night. Dinner reservations are required.

Things To Do While Staying at The Long Beach Lodge Resort

While many will be tempted to simply spend hours relaxing in the Great Room gazing out over the waves with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, there are dozens of other activities to engage in while staying at the Long Beach Lodge.

Beach walking and beach combing along the soft sand of the Cox Bay shore is a favorite activity – especially at low tide when tidal pools are accessible. Surfing has become a very popular year round sport in the Tofino area with many visiting surfers choosing to take advantage of the nearby waves in Cox Bay. Some other options to explore include hiking, ocean kayaking, deep-sea fishing, whale-watching, scuba and storm watching.

Regardless of the time of year, the Long Beach Lodge Resort is popular destination for visitors in search of an authentic Canadian West Coast experience.
